Working with Children and Young People who Display Sexually Inappropriate Behaviour
Who is the Course/Module intended for?
Multi Agency Course for all staff working with children and families.
What will the Course give you?
- A foundation knowledge, values and skills for working with children and young people who display sexually harmful behaviour.
- An understanding of the complexities involved in identifying inappropriate sexualised behaviour and how ones own values and attitudes and the cultural 'norms' affect the process.
What will you be able to do at the end of the training?
- Assist in the identification, assessment and the direct work with children and young people who display sexually inappropriate behaviour.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the legal context when working with children and young people who display sexually inappropriate behaviour.
- Consider the prevalence of inappropriate sexualised behaviour in children and young people and determine which children are most vulnerable.
- Consider strategies for monitoring, recording and alerting.
- Explore the best practice in relation to interventions, assessments and plans.
