Dear Colleague,
I am pleased to present to you the Local Safeguarding Children Board
Child Protection Annual Training Programme for 2006-07.
The programme will continue to deliver multi-agency training and knowledge transfer about child protection to all Local Safeguarding Children Board partner agencies, no matter what level of expertise you have in child protection.
The Training will be divided into the following groups:
The first two indicate the levels of the course while the New Training and Development events will address universal issues in relation to the government national agenda Safeguarding Children. In continuing to deliver the programme this way it is anticipated that the training will be relevant to your role.
It remains a mandatory requirement for your line manager to approve your request, which should be linked with your personal/professional development and training needs and subject to your supervision and appraisal process.
The 2006-07 Programme will also require you to complete an evaluation sheet three (3) months after you have undertaken the Course in order to link your learning with your practice. This evaluation should be carried out with your manager as part of your ongoing supervision and continuous professional development.
Confirmation of attendance will be by e-mail or letter. If you are unable to attend training, it is extremely important that you inform your line manager and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) Training, as your place can be offered to someone else. Failure to do so will result in your manager being informed.
Please provide feedback as part of course evaluation process, as this will help to determine future training needs.
I hope you enjoy your training and knowledge transfer sessions and find them useful in safeguarding the children in the borough.
Best wishes
Rob Whiteman
Interim LSCB Chair
